In 2011 Plymouth City Airport closed down but there are presently several plans on the table to re-open the airport and to reopen it bigger and better than ever before. We'll update this page as new information becomes available.
Plymouth Airport History
Plymouth City Airport has an IATA code of PLH and an ICAO code of EGHD. The airport was inaugurated in the year 1931 by the Prince of Wales, Edward VIII and is considered to be the best way to get to Devon from locations such as Jersey, Cork. Leeds and Newcastle. The location of the Plymouth City Airport is very convenient for travellers to the city also in that it is situated only 20 minutes away from the city centre and is close to the A38 Devon Expressway.
The terminal at the Plymouth City Airport has been equipped with information booths, ATMs and several other facilities to aid travellers. The airport is owned and operated by
Sutton Harbour Holding, which also owns Air Southwest, a popular airline that operates flights to this airport. Plymouth City Airport offers its visitors car parking facilities and car hire services.
