British Fireworks Display Finals, Plymouth, England

Held during the month of August of every year, the British Fireworks Display Finals is one of the most highly anticipated events in Plymouth with over 200,000 spectators turning up for the two day event. The Annual British Fireworks Display Finals culminates in a spectacular fireworks display toward the end of the festivities that makes visitors come back the next year for one more glimpse of the magic.

The best spots to watch the display from are the Hoe, Jennicliff, Mount Edgecumbe or any of the foreshore areas. The display starts at 9.30 pm and the fireworks are launched British Fireworks competitionfrom the inner breakwater and the Citadel. The build-up to the event starts from 6.30 pm with live music and entertainment. Fairground rides, street artists and refreshments are also part of the festivities.

The event is organised by the Plymouth City Council and The Event Services Associations (TESA). There are three ten minute displays each evening, with each display requiring up to half a ton of fireworks. Three or more teams participate each day, each competing for the honour of being known as the most proficient fireworks experts across the United Kingdom.

Visitors who would like to make the Annual British Fireworks Display experience even more special, can watch the display from the Tinside Lido where you can enjoy an evening swim as well. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children.

As a once a year event, the Annual British Fireworks Display is not to be missed if you are in the neighbourhood and is guaranteed to be a memory that you cherish all year round.
