Plymouth Half Marathon guide

Plymouth Marathon

The Annual Plymouth Half Marathon is held every May and has been seeing an increase in participation over the years, participants averaging well over 4000. The participants range from professional athletes to people competing for their favourite charity or competing in memory of a loved one who has passed away. All proceeds from the half marathon go to various charities.

The half marathon starts at the Plymouth Hoe promenade and ends at the same point. The event draws entries from all over the UK and internationally and has even started a Plymouth Half Marathon‘Warriors across the Sea,’ event which sees the Royal Navy / Royal Marines go head to head with the United States Marine Corps.

Travellers visiting Plymouth to participate in the half marathon will be able to get special accommodation discounts from the Hotel Astor, Quality’s Hotel, Jury’s Inn and several other hotels which have ties with the event.

Activities surrounding the event normally begin at 8.30 am on the day, with the actual event kicking off at 9.30 am.
