Plymouth Respect Festival
The interestingly named Respect Festival in Plymouth is a wonderful event that celebrates the rich heritage and cultural diversity of this port city. For more than a dozen years, people have celebrated the Plymouth Respect Festival, which is a spectacular event, full of colour, music and dance.
Held over two days in the latter part of October each year, the Plymouth Respect Festival draws more than 20,000 people, not just from Plymouth and its neighbourhood, but from all over the world. There is no entry fee for this spectacle, and the community gathers to celebrate the fFestival in a spirit of harmony and togetherness. Close to a hundred
artistes perform during the festival and their performances are free to watch.
A wide range of events takes place during the Plymouth Respect Festival. In addition to the performances and entertainment programmes, there are all kinds of interactive workshops and activities for everyone. A samba parade is one of the highlights of the festival. Workshops in drumming, silk painting and tattooing are a few of the options. A number of food vendors provide refreshments.
Location: Plymouth City Centre is the venue for the Plymouth Festival.
