Shopping in Plymouth offers travellers a variety of boutiques and novelty shops to visit. Most of the shopping centres and boutiques in the region are centrally located in and around the heart of Plymouth in the city centre.

Armada Way extends from Plymouth train station to Plymouth Hoe. An underground shopping experience, it features a supermarket and many other shops. Also, since Armada Way extends to Plymouth Hoe, shoppers can relax after a long day of shopping and spend a quiet evening near the sea.

A relatively new entrant to the Plymouth Shopping circuit, is the newly developed Drake Circus shopping centre is another covered shopping Shopping in the city centremall which is spacious and well equipped. Drake Circus shopping centre features everything from a book shop to a lingerie store on site.

Plymouth Pannier Market and the Barbican Shops also offer options in and near to the city centre. These shopping areas have a large collection of independent shops which cater to tourist needs supplying shoppers with everything from souvenirs to hardware to pets and jewellery.

New George Street also caters to shoppers travelling with small children by providing a host of wooden animals dotting the walkways so as to keep the children entertained. The Piazza which is located close to the shopping area features a giant television screen that keeps shoppers updated on Plymouth and the world with news bulletins and sports updates being aired throughout the day. The Piazza is an ideal spot, with its seating arrangements under the shade of the trees, for weary shoppers to take a rest.
