As Plymouth’s most well-known sports and entertainment arena, Plymouth Pavilions is where all the action happens. For instance, should a popular band be coming to town, it is most likely that they will be performing at the Plymouth Pavilions.

Built on the site of the former Melba station, the biggest selling concert held at the Pavilions was the 2006 concert by The Arctic Monkeys, which sold out in an hour. Other artists who have performed at the venue include Oasis, Kylie Minogue, Coldplay, Radiohead, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Rogers, Green Day, Pink, Judas Priest, Sugarbabes, Kanye West, My Chemical Romance and Jack Johnson.Plymouth Pavilions

The Pavilions are also home to the Plymouth Raiders, a professional basketball team from within the area who moved to the arena in 1996. The Raiders are part of the exclusive British Basketball League and have a huge fan following in Britain.

Plymouth Pavilions is also used for corporate events and Exhibitions venues and has a seating capacity of 2,500. The Pavilions meeting room suite offers a space that is ideal for corporate meetings and presentations. Events that have been held at the Plymouth Pavilions in the past include political conferences for the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrats. It is also the venue for the annual Herald Sports Personality of the Year Awards and the Westcountry Wedding Show.

When not hosting a basketball game, a corporate event or concert, the Plymouth Pavilions plays host to other entertainment shows including laser light shows and pyrotechnic displays. Also on premises are an ice rink, several restaurants to cater to the various tastes of the visiting public and a swimming pool.
